Located in South Atlanta, this 3-unit townhouse development occupies a former parking lot behind a 1930’s, 2-story commercial building. The small, narrow site with north-facing street frontage is encumbered with restrictive zoning regulations that call for large areas of useable open space. To make the project economically feasible, the developer determined that the project should include three 3-bedroom units of approximately 2,200 square feet each. Each unit should have two covered parking spaces in addition to incremental parking for the adjacent commercial building. The design is comprised of three L-shaped townhouses with living space on three levels. The connected L-shaped plans create south-facing private exterior courtyards that maximize interior light and create outdoor living and entertainment spaces on multiple levels. The design also incorporates a distinctive stainless steel screen facade that provides privacy from the street and sun shading for the rooftop terrace. |
